The Problem with Ordinary Cod Liver Oil Supplements.
It is has been reported that cod liver oils taken from the North Atlantic can contain such significant levels of toxic pollutants and heavy metals in the oil to recommend that they not be consumed by pregnant women.

The livers are extracted and frozen at -20 degrees Fahrenheit directly on the fishing vessel immediately after the Cod is long-line caught (within about 20 minutes). This is particularly important to stop liver’s natural enzymatic function and degradation and avoids oxidation.
